Web Developer
Location

Job Summary
This position is responsible for concepting, planning, developing, executing and implementing interactive/digital projects. This position reports to the Creative Director.
Required Skills/Knowledge/Attributes
- 3-4 years minimum web development experience
- In-depth knowledge of HTML, CSS, Flash Action Script (and XML integration), JavaScript, and PHP
- In-depth knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Flash, and DreamWeaver
- Understands technical and functional design requirements
- Possesses significant knowledge of client server and Internet systems architectures
- Creates well designed, reusable objects
- Demonstrates excellent understanding of Internet design and development issues – browser usability, cross-platform compatibility, fonts, color, quick loading of images, SEO techniques, etc.
- Understands the benefits and drawbacks of various design methodologies and object-oriented environments
- Experience with PHP and/or SQL/Relational Databases (stored procedures, triggers)
- CMS experience
- Strong experience with WordPress customization (custom widgets, theming, etc.)
- Experience in Drupal CMS a plus
- Follows through with commitments and fosters mutual trust with fellow employees

Responsibilities
This position is responsible for, but not limited to:
- Creating innovative, original design and development solutions that accurately reflect client strategies and objectives
- Conceptualizing practical uses for new technologies
- Providing concept development and final developed applications for digital projects using the latest and most effective design and development software and authoring tools
- Working with content management systems, server systems and databases, developing web queries to databases and programming digital applications
- Designing physical and logical databases
- Creating prototypes for client engagements
- Designing, coding, and testing technical solutions
- Identifying system deficiencies and recommending solutions
- Handling all assigned work in an effective and timely manner
- Modifying, troubleshooting and debugging existing applications and web sites as needed
- Providing technical direction to internal and client staff
- Resolving technical issues that may arise during development and integration of server-side and client-side code
- Assisting on the development of project estimates and schedules, and scoping technical requirements for development projects
- Documenting all development work through useful code commenting and other standard procedures
- Assisting on any other design, development, production, IT, and maintenance projects as assigned by Production Manager or Creative Director
- Proactively keeping up with the latest design and development technologies, as well as online marketing opportunities (e.g. widgets, social media, etc.)
- Keeping all assigned projects on time, on budget, and on strategy
- Establishing and maintaining files according to agency procedures
- Monitoring agency software and hardware usage and reporting issues to the Creative Director immediately
- Being proactive in pursuing additional project work where appropriate
- Completing all administrative duties on time and accurately as directed by company management
- Traveling to client site for meetings
- Completing any and all other responsibilities as directed by company management
