SEO Strategist

Job Summary
This position is responsible for the ongoing development of search engine optimization strategies.
High-level duties include working with new and existing clients to understand their business and provide consultative search engine optimization (SEO) solutions. This may include, but is not limited to website audits, strategy, link building, keyword and competitive research, analytics/reporting, and onsite optimization.
Responsibilities
This position is responsible for, but not limited to:
- Developing scalable, natural search campaign capabilities through keyword research, set KPIs, competitive benchmarking, and reporting
- Optimizing site architecture, URL structures, title tags, header tags, and copy for maximized indexing and keyword relevancy
- Utilizing and performing high value off-page linking tactics for enterprise clients
- Writing SEO editorial copy to describe client products and services
- Developing strategies and prioritizing recommendations based on technology limitations or client resource capabilities
- Evangelizing and educating search campaign capabilities internally and to clients
- Monitoring blogs and recording any updates or changes to the search engine algorithm
- Monthly SEO reporting and analysis, as well as ongoing monitoring of client campaigns
- Researching and developing SEO best practices for the agency
- Developing link building strategies that leverage blogs, social networks, high authority websites, user generated content, and PR to drive qualified traffic
- Managing deliverables, reporting, strategy implementation, and all direct communications with the agency’s IT department, analysts, marketing department, and executive team
- Setting up a process to continuously educate clients on SEO best practices and emerging optimization techniques
- Communicating recommendations internally, as well as with clients
Required Skills/Knowledge/Attributes
- Qualified candidates will possess a Bachelors degree
- 2+ years experience with Search Engine Optimization and Marketing
- Strong HTML knowledge and experience
- Experience with analytics software
- Knowledge of search engine reporting and research software
- Proven ability to prospect for links from other websites
- Proven ability to create client-facing audits and recommendations
- Excellent presentation, negotiation, and communication skills
- Strong mathematical and analytical skills
- Ability to operate on both a strategic and tactical level
- Strong organizational skills and light project management experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint
